Fashion has always been one of the biggest aspects of my life. Although my style has changed a lot over the years, my interest has always grown. In grade 10 I started a clothing company with my best friend, and although we had to shut it down, I’m sure that isn’t the end of my days in the fashion industry. I can’t see my interest stopping any time soon. My interest is pretty focused on street wear and high fashion, but I’m liable to like anything, as long as it looks good.

I’ve been debating which pair of boots for winter to get. No longer deciding. Getting these. Sup w)taps.

Filippa K F/W 2010 VIDEO

Some of you may know, the Swedish label Filippa K, along with Robert Geller out of New York, are my favourite people making clothing right now. Any time they release a line, I get all giddy like 10 year old. As a bit of a teaser (even though the line already released), Filippa K got together with photographer and filmer Camilla Åkrans to produce this promo vid…

fuuuuuuuuu grail status.

I fucking love Junya Watanabe and this has gone above anything I want right now. Its bumped itself to the top of the list, above a K-7. I love the turn-down collar and camo interior. Price: $1,283.

Shit is crazy as hell b.

So, the past few days I’ve been figuring out the most effective way to step my sleep wear game up. This all started after seeing Barney in HIMYM rock the Suitjamas. At first I was thinking this was the way to go, but then RAWDRUGRAPS posted up the Selk’Bag 3G +44 Synthetic Sleeping Bag and I realized its the only thing I’ve ever wanted. Plus, the all black version is swaggin’ as fuck.

Dear Mr. Geller

Stop making your shirts so beautifully made. Its making the lesser shirts in my closet jealous.

Real talk, I think Geller is my favourite guy doing it these days. Geller, Filippa K and Jil Sander.

APCJOURNAL

Go to it here.

Wanna talk about inspiration? For me, I look no further than the S/S Filippa K lookbook. In the process of re-doing my room, I’ve been taking everything apart and either moving it or throwing it out, but when I found this, I was taken a back a little bit. I don’t know exactly what it was and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put my finger on it, but this really changed the way I look at fashion. I remember buying my first pair of Filippa K chinos, and having the guys at Nomad slip this into the bag. Back then I didn’t take it to seriously, but when I began to look at it closer, it really changed my outlook on fashion. From this, I began to look a lot more closely at A.P.C, Visvim, Robert Gellar and of course, Filippa K. Since, I’ve become much more obsessed with cut, fit, materials and craftsmanship, as opposed to big labels. Granted, the stuff costs a lot more, so recently I find myself not buying as much, but spending way more that I used to. Seems to be a bad habit, but we all have them.

I like this exert from Visvim to really sum it up;

“The Free International Laboratory’s founding ethic proposes that answers not found in construction should be sought in that construction’s material. Answers not found in the material should be sought in the yarn. Answers not found in the yarn should be sought in the yarn’s fiber. Answers not found in the fiber should be sought in the plant from which the fiber was extracted. Answers not found in the plant should be sought in the seed from which the plant was harvested… DeepQUALITY. This is a statement of belief, intent, commitment, and humility. Visvim.”

Anyways, this lookbook played a big part in me beginning to change my style. Its still something I’m working on, and its a gradual thing that includes weight loss (which I’m also working on haha), but I’ll get there. And I’m cutting my hair.

As soon as I lose about 15-20 pounds and grow my hair long enough, I’m fucking doing it and I don’t give a fuck. If it looks bad, I’ll shave it. I’m determined to get this down.

Officially retired.

So I’ve had these for about 2 years now. I retired them a while ago then kept wearing them about a week later but the other day I realized it has to stop. They’ve gone past the point of “Oh cool, those vans have some wear in them” to something closer to “Oh…he really needs some new shoes” (even though in reality I probably actually have too many shoes). So, I’m OFFICIALLY retiring these joints. Thanks guys, its been fun.
